Exterior waterproofing is designed to stop water before it reaches the concrete.
We dig to the footing where access allows, clean the wall, repair cracks, apply a membrane and set new weeping tile in stone. On the Shield, bedrock can sit right at the wall. That changes how deep we can trench and how we plan the day.
A wall that wets through the face will keep staining finishes if you only collect water at the floor. Exterior work resets the barrier and the tile that was supposed to relieve pressure, which helps protect comfort and value.
It also makes sense if you intend to stay, or to use the cottage more months of the year. You pay more up front than a one-wall interior drain, and you avoid opening the same elevation again because the outside system was left failed.
This is the more complete barrier and the higher-cost option, often $140 to $300 per linear foot. It is a worthwhile choice when you plan to keep the property for years, or when the outside system is no longer doing its job.

How We Complete the Work
We confirm access: decks, pines, granite outcrops and how deep the footing sits. That is what drives time and cost more than the membrane brand, so we walk it with you first.
We excavate the wet elevations, repair cracks, and apply the membrane so lake moisture and melt cannot sit against the concrete.
New perforated tile goes in washed stone, wrapped where fines would pack the pipe, and sloped to a storm connection or a sump that leaves the lot.
Backfill is compacted in lifts. The job is not finished when the membrane is on. It is finished when the grade sheds water away from the house and you can use the yard again.
